Quoin: brand, website and SaaS product design

Quoin started with a problem I recognised in my own web design business: finding suitable prospects could consume hours before a useful conversation even began. I conceived, designed and built the product to make that research more focused. It is my own product, rather than a commissioned client project.

Turning a business problem into a product brief

The brief was to discover local businesses, assess their websites and give designers a practical way to review potential opportunities. Starting in January 2026, I worked across the concept, branding, UI/UX and development, using a lean PHP, CSS and JavaScript stack with Google APIs and ChatGPT integration.

Designing the workflow before adding features

I used my own prospecting experience to identify the information that was useful when deciding whether to contact a business. The interface centres on searching by location and industry, reviewing ranked results, managing leads and preparing outreach. I wanted the workflow to be quick to understand rather than becoming another dashboard full of competing controls.

A brand and interface for a design-conscious audience

I created a restrained wordmark and a consistent visual system for an audience likely to notice small design inconsistencies. The Quoin Score gives each prospect a composite assessment, supported by more detailed insights. The design challenge was to make that information readable and useful without forcing the user to interpret every raw signal themselves.

What I built

The product brings together website discovery, scored prospect lists, AI-generated insights, saved projects, lead statuses and draft outreach emails and call scripts. Quoin is in early access. I am continuing to develop the product and its positioning; formal performance metrics are not yet available.

What this means for your project

Building my own product has given me a direct view of the decisions business owners face: what to build first, how to explain it and where complexity gets in the way. If your website needs a custom tool or customer dashboard, I can work through the user journey and the development together.
