WordPress development in Kent

A WordPress website should support your business and be practical to look after. I build custom WordPress websites for businesses across Kent, with editable content, considered functionality and a clear handover.

I’m Paul, the designer and developer behind kube creative in Herne Bay. You speak directly to the person building your website. I can take a project from design through development, or discuss an existing design and the technical work needed to bring it to life.

Custom WordPress development around your requirements

We start by agreeing what the website needs to do: the pages, content types, forms and any features that support your customers or team. This becomes the scope for the build, rather than adding functionality without a clear purpose.

I build the agreed layouts and reusable components using PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with WordPress managing the content. Where a suitable plugin provides an established feature, we consider its suitability, ongoing costs and maintenance requirements before including it.

Content you can update without editing code

Your team should be able to make routine changes without worrying about breaking a layout. I set up editing areas around the content you need to manage, such as service information, projects and articles.

At handover, I show you how to make the updates covered by your setup. We also discuss user access and which technical changes are best handled by a developer, so the responsibilities are clear after launch.

WooCommerce development for online shops

A useful online shop starts with the way you sell. We work through your product catalogue, variations, delivery rules, payment requirements and order handling before agreeing the build.

I develop WooCommerce stores with attention to product navigation and the checkout journey, alongside the administration your team needs. Any extensions, subscriptions or connections to other systems are scoped separately so their costs and limitations are understood.

Forms and integrations that connect the work

Your website may need to send enquiries to a CRM, accept bookings or connect to another business system. We first check what the relevant services support, what access is available and how information should move between them.

The brief should cover validation, permissions, error handling and any third-party fees. For work that goes beyond the website into business workflows, explore Flex:auto AI and business automation.

“Paul at kube creative has looked after our website for a number of years. With zero technological knowledge we feel safe in the expert hands of the Kube team and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.”

Rebuilds, migrations and existing WordPress websites

If you already have a site, a rebuild is not automatically the right answer. I can review its structure and technical setup, then explain whether focused improvements or a new build would provide a more practical foundation.

For a migration, we plan the content, important URLs, redirects and launch arrangements. Access to hosting, domains and connected services needs to be agreed before launch, along with the checks required as the new site goes live.

Performance, accessibility and SEO foundations

Loading performance, mobile behaviour and accessible interactions inform the build. I consider image delivery, asset loading, semantic structure, keyboard navigation and form usability, with testing against the agreed requirements.

Search setup also needs attention during development. Read about the SEO foundations included in a website project. Technical checks support a usable, discoverable website; they cannot guarantee a particular search position or performance score.

Design, testing and a clear handover

If your project needs a visual direction as well as a build, my bespoke website design service covers page layouts and user experience before development begins. You can also browse the project case studies to see the kinds of work I take on.

Before launch, we review the agreed pages, forms and functionality. The quote sets out the scope and deliverables, with the timing shaped by the complexity of the build and the availability of content and feedback. The website pricing guide explains the main factors behind a project budget.

Support after your WordPress website launches

WordPress, themes and plugins need ongoing care. You can manage the day-to-day content while arranging technical support separately through my WordPress maintenance and support plans.

Your initial development project is quoted separately from monthly support. If you would like an overview before deciding where to start, read what I do, then tell me about your current site and the changes you have in mind.
